ISSUE #4
Special Edition: Together We Run
Hey RunFam, the 4th edition of RunFam on the Go, our new community newsletter, is here!
This weekend marked the opening of the ILTR virtual race event, Together We Run. It likely wasn’t the race we originally planned to run. It likely wasn’t the race for which we originally trained.
However, in the dawn of social distancing, it was the race we ran. In our houses and apartment buildings, on the treadmill, in our yards, on the sidewalk, and even through the woods. Running separately brought us together.
Congrats to everyone who showed up, It was amazing to see that we had a whopping 4,000 runners come together and join us.
At I Love to Run Running Club, all runners are welcome, regardless of the speed you run, the distance you run, the events you run, or the reasons why you run. With RunFam on the Go!, we provide you with weekly news about running events and we celebrate the achievements of runners in our community.
Just a couple reminders about things coming up later this week:
–Together We Run “The Mini Movie“
–Week #2 of the I Love to Run Virtual Run series “The Thankful Mile”
–If you missed Week #1 of the free virtual run series you can still join:

A few short years ago I was nearly bedridden. I spent roughly 18 hours in bed every day and 6 hours in my recliner. I lived in severe chronic pain for 11 years. The last 3 of those years I could barely even walk. Weighing over 230 lbs, I was downright miserable. After many years of prayers, I was finally diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and had successful back surgery 5 years ago. Oh but wait, I was recently diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. However, I refuse to be defeated. Having run track and cross country in high school and 5k races in my 20’s, I decided to find my passion again of running in order to fight the war of disease. I’m so grateful the Lord has given me the ability to run again and to take care of myself. I’m down to 159 lbs and at 55 years of age I feel younger than I have in years. I hope in someway my story will help someone who may be struggling. Fight through whatever your dealing with and be grateful that our God in heaven has given you the ability to run. Please, never take it for granted.
Thank you to everyone for sharing your inspirational stories. You’ve been a big help to me.
Together We Run! ❤️

Today I completed my Together We Run 2020 Virtual 5k… in 24:36 💜 was hoping to PR but didnt quite get it… however it is my fastest 5k time in 2020 and my 1st mile was 7:31.. and that’s also my quickest mile so far in 2020. I got down on myself at first, but got a grip pretty quick.. and started looking at all the positives. The Lord has truly blessed me with running in so many ways. Not just in running itself, but in the amazing people running has brought into my life. My running friends… they are the realest friends I have. Running has brought me right here to this RunFam and to be honest… y’all have been what’s been pulling me up for air since I found this group. Running hasn’t just changed my life… its given me life. I have bad days, more than good, but running is one thing I can make myself do.

In the midst of all the chaos & craziness in my life and in this world, I really needed this run as my way to cope and stay happy! It feels like forever since my last run, but I managed to pull thru a quick 3 mile run. Believe me it wasn’t pretty, but I didn’t quit! They say God works in mysterious ways & I truly believe that! May God bless you all! May we find peace love & happiness within ourselves. ❤️🌎🙏

Was planning on a 10k today but then my buddy wanted to run with me. 😍 My 7 yo has heart disease and we have built up his stamina this year. We got a mile in for #togetherwerun2020 . I’ll do my 10k tomorrow. Today I’m just enjoying the time I have been given with my family. ❤I’m just a girl training for a 1/2 marathon that’s most likely going to get canceled BUT if you’re not moving forward, you’re simply standing still.

Hey #RunFam❤️
Today I ran the furthest I have ever ran in my life!! ***20 MILES***Week 15/18 marathon training 🏃🏻♀️ Lots of pics to document this accomplishment along with an awesome Easter Joy display. 🐥
I turned off my music for a good portion of this run and dedicated, reminisced and prayed for individuals during each mile. This kept my heart light and my body strong!
Thank you #ILTR for this Virtual race! It was so nice to know that even though we can’t participate in actual racing we all can come together and run with purpose, the love to run ❤️

I’ve run long runs and short runs, I’ve done run walk run and I’ve run straight through. I run with friends and family …I’ve run with strangers and I’ve run all by myself. Running will never be cancelled for me. Today I got to see a fantastic example of perseverance in hard times. People I love came “together” across the country to say, running’s not cancelled. Together we RESPONSIBLY ran, our own race, our own distances and paces… from Colorado to Pittsburgh…in this time of stress and unknowns… Thank you my family for giving me a sense of why I started running in the first place…It’s a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll 💪😬🤘Felt great out this morning and got a pr by 1 minute. Hope everybody is staying safe and healthy.

#togetherwerun it always amazes me that when I get home from work some nights I don’t feel like running at all. Tonite was one of those nights. So I said, well just go do the 5k and get it done. Then I got out there and thought, well maybe 4.5. Then I figured oh heck with it, if you’re gonna go 4.5, you can do the 6.2! So, here it is! always glad I went. #covid19sucks. #ILTR#stayhealthystaystrong 🏃🏻♀️
