Run fam on the go 5- Running never Stopped

by admin

Run Fam on the go is where we shine the spotlight on a few of the I Love to Run members who have caught our eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Strava channels over the previous week. This edition is all about the strength of our community.

For most of the world, the last few months have brought changes, challenges, and unknowns. As races started being canceled one by one, and the hard work of training, discipline, and following plans felt insignificant, members of our RunFam were able to rise above, get creative, and prove that running is not canceled.

Many of our own RunFam were able to complete their very first 5K, 10k, Half Marathon, or Full Marathon during this time without having the race day adrenaline or having others cheering them on throughout the course. They ran with their hearts and mental toughness knowing their RunFam was with them from a distance.

The support, encouragement, and love we give to one another means so much more than we fully realize.

At I Love to Run Running Club, all runners are welcome, regardless of the speed you run, the distance you run, the events you run, or the reasons why you run. With RunFam on the Go!, we provide you with weekly news about running events and we celebrate the achievements of runners in our community.

“I was going to run my very first 5k on my birthday but since everything has been cancelled I went ahead and did a virtual….”

“I was planning to run my first 10K today – the Cooper River Bridge Run. It was canceled but I ran anyway! My husband ran too and our daughter rode her bike. Thankful for this day 💕

“13.1 my first half marathon! No Race No Medal just one neighbor clapping for me at the finish. I wooed and then I cried. I can’t freaking believe it. I was only planning to go as many as I could and thought I’d try to just push past my last longest which was 8miles. So super happy right now. Thank you all for giving me motivation through your own personal victories.”

“I JUST RAN A HALF MARATHON 😱

My first half marathon was scheduled for April 4th, but was cancelled, so I opted to run it virtually! It was hilly and challenging, but the weather was perfect and I ran the whole dang thing. Couldn’t be more proud of myself. 😎🤘🏃‍♀️ #halfmarathon #halfmarathonrunner #halfmarathonmama #badassmotherrunner #easterrun #goals #ifreakingdidit”

“Today I became a marathon finisher all on my own! When they cancelled my first ever marathon I cried. I had worked so hard and trained so long and it was all taken away from me just like that. Well today as I hit 26.2 miles on my own I cried again. I didn’t need the aid stations, the water stops, the crowd cheering. That being said to every person that I passed on the trail who was also out running their cancelled race you pushed me further and made me better. I am so grateful today. I’m also tired and you know this is Milwaukee so there’s a beer in the fridge calling my name. To all of you that ran the Milwaukee marathon on your own today, cheers!”

I am a Marathoner!!🎉🎉🎉

I have so much to say about this but I will try to keep it kinda short lol!!😆 Today I ran my marathon that became a virtual for #GlassCity!! This is also my run for #riseupandrun for #ILTR. …Long story short, I pushed through some of the worst pain I have ever had! I can’t wait to do this again without the pain so I can see how well I can really do!  Thank you #ILTR family!!’ Your support, inspiration, motivation and encouragement has made a huge impact on my running journey and I appreciate each and every one of you!!❤️❤️❤️

“Ran my first marathon today. The one I had scheduled for tomorrow in Knoxville was cancelled so I decided to run one anyway….

It was rough – and there was some walking – but I got it done.

I’m thankful for family and friends who support my hobby and thankful for my health and freedom that allows me to run!”

Val Peltz

“Well, I DID IT! Will I do another one? Oh hell yeah! But in cooler weather. Heat is not my friend running! I didn’t hit my 5 hour goal but, I  finished pain free and am ready to do it again! At mile 20 I had to call for cold water, my supply was so warm I couldn’t drink it. Norm then came back and ran/walked the last 4 miles with me. He had pinned up a Congrats sign and one of his old Marathon signs for me as a surprise when I got home.  It was awesome! I then went in the hot tub for awhile,  then showered and ate some more Lasagna. I wasn’t able to eat more than 2 bites of a granola bar about mile 10….was having hard time getting it down, was getting to warm already.  I pushed hard to finish the 1st half under 2:30…did it by 30 seconds. Lol  The 2nd half was a heat struggle for me, my body was good, just couldn’t breathe.😫 I was not giving up, that was the farthest from my mind! Thank you everyone that supported me on this journey! ❤ I look forward to the next Challenge! 🏃‍♀️👟🙌💪🦵👍🙏❤😘

Oh, I’m a Marathoner!”
