Runfam on the go !

ISSUE #3

This Saint Patrick’s Day, may the “Luck of the Irish” be bestowed upon us all. In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, we may not be feeling very lucky. In truth, however, the popular phrase doesn’t denote the Irish as being fortunate, but rather, as being a steadfast group of people who maintain a positive outlook despite a bad situation.

In the midst of the uncertainty and fear brought to us via COVID-19, may we keep running in order to maintain the hope, love, and luck symbolized by the Irish four leaf clover. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and Happy Running!

At I Love to Run Running Club, all runners are welcome, regardless of the speed you run, the distance you run, the events you run, or the reasons why you run. This is why, in runfam on the go! we celebrate all achievements and shout about the runners who happened to catch our eye. With so many members, it is impossible to feature all of you in runfam on the go, but we do hope you take inspiration from the achievements of your fellow RunFam.

I was lucky that my race was not cancelled! 🍀 It was a PR for a 10k for me! I was just happy to run because I train 90% on the “dreadmill” due to my schedule and husbands with 3 kids and to be honest I’m ok with that because I feel like it really helps me. My average treadmill time is around 10:30 per mile so for those who hate it or love it I embrace it because its what works for me. Running is running. 😌💗

They may have cancelled our official St. Paddy run for today, but the Basta’s didn’t hold back for our very own virtual St. Paddy run on the trail. The kids were challenged to complete it in 33 mins and they did

No in-house childcare this weekend, so my girl got on her bike and joined me on my (nearly) 12km training run (Plymouth hm hasn’t been cancelled yet!). It was lovely to be out in the fresh air, no crowds, but the occasional cheery hello from other runners and cyclists. She did so well, we stopped at our favourite little cafe for her to enjoy a slice of cake and hot choc.

Luckily our annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration was not cancelled! This morning we had a 2 mile and an 8k run. My running buddy and I did the 8k while other friends and family did the 2 mile. 🍀 Tho it was cold and snowing, we all had a great time!

I PR’d my 8k by 3 minutes (last 8k I ran was end of October) ❤❤🏃‍♀️

Get out there and run y’all. It’s the last bit of normalcy we have left these days 🤷‍♀️

Cheers! 🍻

Ran my own Shamrock ☘️ half marathon and got a PR for half-marathon distance! 2 hours and 14 minutes is the fastest I’ve run a half marathon distance. Now to shave another fifteen minutes off of that!

His first 5k was cold and in the pouring rain, but I’m thankful that it was not canceled! He did great and ended up 4th in his age group!! Great job buddy!

Sometimes you have to find your way back to the woods…no cell service, no music, just you and nature. Peaceful day hiking a couple miles and then a fun run, ended up being an hour, only listening to the sound of the river flowing next to me.😊

Our races were cancelled but we still got out and did our runs!! Dude got his half mile run done and I got my 5k done and my fastest times 🥳☘☘

Scout and I ran 2.5 miles thru our downtown. I feel great! Slowly building my running back.. So weird here in Pennsylvania..It’s Friday evening and barely any traffic. Hardly anyone on the rail trail. Schools have officially closed for 2 weeks now. State Forest events are cancelled. So our upcoming trail run is cancelled..😥 It’s a crazy world we are living in. Prayers for everyone..❤

Hilton Head Shamrock 5km (yay wasn’t cancelled!)

Placed 1st in my age category and 9th overall out of 180. 21:42

But the best part was I capped off my first 100km week of 2020.

My race was cancelled this morning. Had to earn the medal….🥇🥇

So I ran a 10K, a 5K and a little extra to make it an even 10 miles. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thankful for this gorgeous morning and the fresh air…☀️☀️☀️

My plan was to run my second half on my 41st birthday today. It was unfortunately canceled, but I ran it alone anyway. I shaved 12 minutes off my time, and finished first in my age group, and first overall (1 out of 1)! 🤣🤣🤣

I had some major doubts, but hubs drove around and found me every few miles with water and words of encouragement! ❤

41 is going to be a great year!
